THE FOUNDATION

Maison Bivens is a multidisciplinary studio investigating the intersection of heritage and psychological autonomy.

Maison Bivens is a creative house devoted to psychologically driven fine art, large-scale public works, and durational painting residencies that respond to architecture, civic narrative, and communal energy.

Founded by Karla Bivens, the Maison functions as a bridge between the precision of behavioral science and the fluidity of fine art.

Mason Bivens

Maison Bivens is a visual articulation of memory, architectural belonging, and identity, expressed across disciplines and art forms. Rooted in an exploration of the Caribbean diaspora and the psychology of interior life, the House operates at the intersection of fine art, cultural authorship, and perceptual inquiry.

Led by visual artist Karla Bivens, Maison Bivens has cultivated a refined curatorial discipline and an immersive experiential language. One that moves seamlessly between museum, civic space, and private collector with deliberate precision.

What is celebrated in the moment becomes preserved in memory.

Collaborative engagements have included partnerships with the Hunter Museum of American Art, EPB, NAACP, Association for Visual Arts, and ArtsBuild.  Institutions committed to shaping contemporary cultural dialogue and public imagination.
